Shedding My Discretion BOASTFUL

Expansive, strong, so big the air is sucked out of the room. Egotism in a big dose is hard to endure and tone deaf. But a taste, engendered by the thrill of success with an awareness of one's place, is exultant. Sometimes it is good to celebrate openly. Sometimes humility is over-rated.

Seekers INQUISITIVENESS

While it may have killed the cat, curiosity made that cat's life dynamic. Wonder, challenge, question, think! Blind faith is submission and the cat could not abide that.

Today Was Good GRATITUDE

I practice making an inventory of my blessings each day. Feeling gratitude helps me see past the potholes. It is my intention in hard times to feel calm, to feel a peace that comes from deeply knowing that All is Well and that I have been given exactly what I need. It takes a lot of practice. SOLD

That Particular Quiet ISOLATION

A blessing and a curse. Sometimes I need to be alone and I welcome a quiet detachment to recharge. Then I need to return to the company of others, for I yearn for the richness of conversation, the comfort of connection and the stimulation from the unpredictability of being with other humans. One to the exclusion of the other would drive me mad. SOLD

Tour De Force POWERFUL

Tour de Force is French for an act of strength or an accomplishment that required great skill and ingenuity. To convey this, I used saturated, contrasting hues, sharp angles and intersecting lines. I intended to create a sense of tension and forcefulness. SOLD

The Sanctuary Of Each Other NURTURING

Succulents nestled together evokes an image for me of the shelter found within families and groups of good friends, the proximity of trusted others that makes me feel safe, supported and connected.

A Month Of Low Skies ENERVATED

Sometimes things can feel heavy and bleak and flat. But like the ocean on a drizzly, overcast day if I look toward the horizon long enough, a patch of blue appears, maybe a hazy blue, but enough of a blue that I am reminded that the sun will burn off the haze. The ocean is a grand teacher. SOLD

In praise of play, may I easily shed the demands of limitations and open my mind to imagination and freedom so that I may know the awakening of possibilities. May I find in a moment of indecision, that the hesitation, the not-knowing may mark a new beginning and take me where I never thought to go before.
